The Provincetown International Film Festival Opens Tonight!

bunuel-in-the-labyrinth-of-the-turtlesAs always, I had a great time preparing coverage for the annual Provincetown International Film Festival. I have seen a number of the films screening this year, and I am looking forward to going to a few more this weekend.  In the mean time, here are some thoughts I had on films at the festival, written up for Provincetown Magazine:

A look at three films about film: Luis Buñuel in the Labyrinth of Turtles; What She Said: The Art of Pauline Kael; and Making Montgomery Clift. All three films are fascinating, and although the headline is “For Film Nerds Only,” I do think these are going to be of interest to all.

An interview with the director, Jeanie Finlay, and the subject, Freddie McConnell, of Seahorse, a documentary about the unique journey of pregnancy for Freddie, a trans man. The film is absolutely beautiful aside from telling a fascinating story.

Hope to see some of my readers out and about in Provincetown! Enjoy!
